“by Carolina, as you travel Southeast, it’s cold”
By Michael W. Metzger
life was coastal, slow sprinkle, the flow, when it starts raining, then you’re caught
in a storm
you want to run away, green and blue waves, the wind is the only thing I believe in
the visitor’s reach rests by the edge at the eastern ocean
the breeze begins again, the waters sway and rave
it was a June day, true blue, if you may, love was in the air, the countryside reverses
the tide shift, things change, nothing matters, life and/or death, you’re sad and winded
until you’re alone, past everything down by the sea, as you sit, you are/were warmer
as I collect my thoughts
anyway, yet again, but I can’t believe or realize as much or anything at all
at the point of no return, westerly today, there for the year, you love the weather,
it is/was clear skies, now sitting July coming, then remember Spring when it went by
you, past the flowers

About the poet:
By nature, I’m just a typical person who loves life, mostly the irises in May. Also, I like to write about birds but whatever is worth writing and that I can think of. The roses are nice, the leaves of Spring, then it carries over to grass cutting, daily things and so on…
