THE THIRD POETRY PRIZE WINNER –
WINTER 2020 – 2021
is ALISON JENNINGS
of Seattle, Washington, USA
“Dragonfly Dreams”
Hurtling through the void,
hang between the bars;
learn how to fly
into regeneration.
Plant a seed, build a garden,
surrender who you were.
Dream big.
Answers, like trees,
take time to grow.
Minds and hearts, set
into motion by time’s wheel,
must rest
and do the work of winter:
we cannot stay in summer.
Allow silence.
Follow your energy;
meet its needs.
Go deep:
roots require darkness
to develop, push above
into the healing light,
the blazing core
of intuition:
discover who you are.
Bend, don’t break.
Dragonfly, delicate and strong,
behold the beauty of your dreams.
