THE FIRST POETRY PRIZE WINNER –
SUMMER 2021
is Tasha Bohannon
of Akron, Ohio – USA
“erād ot maērd”
I dare to dream to defy the laws
of success and failure, yeah
Like old Mr. Stevens running his fruit stand
come every morning rain, hell, or snow
with Patrick freshly released from prison today
and 15-years-ago
I resist the confines of time and relative distance in space
Someday my words will reveal
to inspire, encourage, and motivate others
as we travel through galaxies, for real
I dare to break the chains of crime and poverty
Sharing this knowledge for our posterity
On how teamwork makes their dreams work,
for food, clothing, shelter, and peace of mind – for clarity
I dare to overpower hopelessness, complete and utter despair
Reaching out to help the children – our future,
to awaken from dreams to dare
With tender loving family, and friends with toys to share
I dream of the impossibilities
that some dare not to do
So you may accomplish the dreams that others,
dare to dream for you.
