“In Good Flow”

By Laurel Clabaugh

The goodness of flow

Like a calm, clean stream

Fills and spills

Beyond the dream.

The steady day drones,

Patterns of living repeat,

All time blurs

Monotony fells the dream.

Sanctity neither easy nor hard,

Simply forgotten in the midst

Of all that is or seems.

Like a well, it dwells,

That sacred place of heart,

A place of peace, of art.

Of compassion unbiased.

Devotion undefiled

Brings great yield.

No mistake.

A snake in the garden,

Poison in the cup,

Apocalypse awaiting,

Denied.

For as long as the sacred flows

Through any noble being

All that seeks destruction

Cannot but wither before the dream.

About the author:

I work full-time and part-time and write when I can squeeze it in. It doesn’t happen often enough. I enjoy sunshine, books, dragons, adventure and more trashy tv and romance novels than I’ll admit to in person. I have a husband and a daughter who I love dearly. ~Laurel Clabaugh
